About the service

The JANET Web Hosting Service provides space on central web servers for JANET organisations to publish their websites. It is operated by RM (Research Machines plc).

The service is suitable both for a production website and as a standby web site for contingency purposes. Organisations may find it useful in their planning for business continuity. It is available to all organisations with a Primary JANET connection.

The service is available on both a Linux platform and a Windows platform.

JANET(UK) makes a basic charge (except that at the time of writing, use by Specialist College and ACL sectors will be funded centrally by the LSC). Details of this and other charges are at: Applying to Use the Web Hosting Service. To apply, go to: Application Form.
