In test connections to a Polycom® VSX8000 software version 8.7 with the H.239 presentation source bandwidth set to 90% when the presentation source is selected for the first time the full 90% is allocated to the presentation source. If however the presentation source is deselected and then reselected, a much lower bandwidth is then allocated to the presentation source. It also remains low for any subsequent selections
The maximum call speed negotiated between the LifeSize® ExpressTM and the Tandberg 6000 Classic (B Version Hardware) appeared to be 768Kbit/s
In connections between LifeSize® ExpressTM systems and other vendors’ CODECS and MCUs the bandwidth reporting within the Statistics menu did not appear to be accurate. In general the bandwidth reported seemed much lower than that to be expected from the received picture quality.
Lifesize®: We are aware of the need for backward compatibility and as such we are committed to address the interoperability issues and ensure fixes are available in a future release later this year. We are grateful to VTAS for helping identify this issue.
