Quality Assurance (QA) Testing

qa testing

For non-school organisations there is a mandatory QA test. This must be carried out after a venue is registered on the Booking Service and before they can begin videoconferencing. Once an organisation has passed the QA test the venue will be available to book for meetings. This test must be performed every twelve months (every six months for Welsh endpoints).Venue administrators will receive an email reminder when the next test is due. If the test isn't completed before the specified expiry date, the venue will no longer be used on the Booking Service.

For schools, there is a Quality Assurance Assessment (QAA) test which is slightly different to a regular QA test. Once a school registers on the Booking Service, it is recommended (not mandatory) that they try this QAA to help fix any outstanding issues before starting to videoconference. Schools can voluntarily perform a QAA test once every six months.

JVCS Check

If a user would like to test their audio and video without having to book a QA test and speak to an Operator there is JVCS Check. It is an automated testing tool where a user goes through the tests step by step themselves. If an endpoint has been moved or changes have been made to it, JVCS recommends using this tool to ensure the equipment can still provide a good quality videoconference.

A typical JVCS-Check assessment session takes just over 10 minutes to complete. Each section is introduced by a recorded presenter who outlines a technical summary of what the sections are for.
