The AGSC provides a number of Services for use of the Access Grid.

Presentation Sharing Software

UK academic users who register with the AGSC are provided with the IG Pix presentation sharing software. Depending on which software client they use, this will either be integrated into the IOCOM client or be a free standing version of IGPix specially written for AG nodes using the open source Access Grid Toolkit software client.

AG Multicast Beacon Matrix

The Multicast Beacon Matrix helps network administrators troubleshoot multicast networking issues. The AGSC has DBeacon running on all of its virtual venue servers.

Virtual Venue Servers

A number of Virtual Venue Servers are provided for connection to both the open source Access Grid Toolkit and the IOCOM, (formerly inSORS) access grid software clients. A list of Virtual Venue Addresses on these servers are provided as well.

Multicast-Unicast Bridges

The AGSC provides a number of Multicast-Unicast Bridges which can be used by participants who either do not have multicast enabled or are experiencing multicast problems. There are bridge servers for both the open source Access Grid Toolkit and the IOCOM, (formerly inSORS) access grid software clients. The AGSC also runs a remote controlled multicast-unicast bridge for low bandwidth situations where the user can select which streams they want to receive. There is also an experimental static bridge that always uses the same ports regardless of the virtual venue.

H.323 Bridge

Using the IOCOM client a user can connect to a conventional videoconference using the H.323 Bridge. Alternatively a videoconference MCU can connect to a virtual venue. Certain limitations apply. See the H.323 pages for full details.

EVO Bridge

The AGSC provides a bridge from EVO to a small selection of AG virtual venues.

Automated Node Testing

This allows a user to perform a quick automated test just prior to an AG session to make sure audio and video are working correctly.

AG Check

This allows a user to perform an automated test of their Access Grid system without needing assistance from anyone at the AGSC. This takes approximately 10 minutes and provides pass/fail results. It however should not be used in place of a proper full Node Test.
