H.323-Access Grid Bridge

The H.323-AG Bridge connects an IP based H.323* client (i.e. a Polycom or Tandberg codec) to an Access Grid Virtual Venue allowing both H.323 and AG nodes to participate in the same meeting. How nodes are connected varies depending on the AG software being used and who initiates the connection. Regardless of connection method, this dial-up process relies on the H.323 client being connected to an AG virtual venue via the H.323-AG Bridge Server. On each of the IOCOM (formerlly 'inSORS') servers hosted by the AGSC there is a built in H.323-AG Bridge.

In most cases it is preferable for the H.323 node to dial-up the H.323-AG Bridge Server to connect to an IG node. For instructions on how to do so go to the H.323 node to IG node link . To connect the two nodes together a Virtual Venue H.323 meeting code is necessary, please click here for these codes.
In other cases the IG node can use the bridge to dial an H.323 node. For instructions on how to do so go to the IG node to H.323 node link .
A VRVS-H.323 bridge also exists allowing VRVS clients to dial-up H.323 nodes. For further information click here.
* H.323 is the international standard for multimedia communication over IP networks, including LANs, WANs, and the Internet . In this context, H.323 facilities use videoconferencing codecs that are common across industry and academia.
