Recommended Software Versions

AG Toolkit

NEW!! - Access Grid Toolkit all in one Installer - see below for details.

The currently supported release of Access Grid Toolkit is version 3.1.
We recommend the 'all in one' Access Grid bundle that can be downloaded from http://www.accessgrid.org/software. Please ensure you choose the stable version.

Our AG Toolkit Venue Server is currently running v3.1.

The software developers for AG Toolkit maintain an archive of the mail list used for support and development found at http://lists.mcs.anl.gov/pipermail/ag-tech/. This makes it possible to search for information that may assist in troubleshooting AG Toolkit issues.

IOCOM (formerly inSORS)

We recommend using version IG2 of the IOCOM software. The latest and most stable release is 2.0.3, which can be downloaded here. For more information please see the release notes provided by IOCOM. This is commercially available licenced software. If you would like to enquire about purchasing IOCOM software, please refer to the IOCOM contact web page.

MBone Tools

VIC and RAT are also compatible with the Access Grid and can be used if needed. VIC and RAT can be obtained from www-mice.cs.ucl.ac.uk/multimedia/software/.

EVO (formerly VRVS)

The AGSC supports both EVO virtual rooms and AG-EVO bridged rooms. The current version of the EVO software can be downloaded from here.

Can these software clients interoperate with each other?

Yes, EVO and Access Grid Toolkit can interoperate through the AG-EVO bridged rooms. EVO and IOCOM also interoperate with H.323 videoconferencing. Please see below the interoperability diagram for the above software:
