Course Overview
The main aim of the course is to enabling organisations and staff to work lawfully, protect user privacy and run a professional system/network/service. This course provides an introduction to the privacy and legal issues most likely to arise where staff in educational organisations have elevated access permissions for shared networks, computers and applications, and the need for organisations to have, and staff to follow, policies and processes that take account of these.
Topics Covered
- The (limited) Right to Privacy
- Assessing Invasion of Privacy
- Assessing Risk of Harm
- Improving Privacy
- Working with Others
- Other Constraints
Benefits
This course will benefit staff (and their managers) whose jobs require them to have privileged access to shared networks, computers and applications: for example system and network administrators and those responsible for the administration or content of databases.
Familiarity with operations requiring enhanced privileges and prior knowledge of the organisation’s own published privacy policies would also be useful.

All delegates will receive a workbook specifically written for the course.
A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
