The Freedom of Information Act encourages public bodies to make as much information as possible available to the public proactively.While JANET(UK) is not obliged to respond to any requests for information, whether under the Freedom of Information Act or otherwise (except where it has a legal obligation for other purposes), we will endeavour to respond in the spirit of the FoI Act, where we are reasonably able to do so, taking into account the resource implications in preparing a response.

Available information is grouped under seven classes of information:

* who we are and what we do
* what we spend and how we spend it
* what are our priorities and how are we doing
* how we make decisions
* our policies and procedures
* lists and registers
* the service we offer.
