Telecommunications Framework

JANET(UK) has set up a framework agreement to enable the purchase of transmission services, including leased circuits, dark fibre, wide area Ethernet and xDSL. The suppliers have been chosen according to EU procurement rules and UK procurement regulations.

The framework may be used by JANET(UK), JANET connected organisations, Regional Network Operators, members of the Purchasing Consortia and the Regional Broadband Consortia.

Web based access to this framework for authorised purchasers is now available. The web site enables purchasers to easily identify capable suppliers when running a mini-competition and provides all the documentation necessary to fully utilise the framework. A short presentation is also available to introduce users to this service.

The framework runs until 16th July 2014 and is split into three lots: within London; cities other than London; and non city areas across the UK.
