This workshop is aimed at education organisations and research council sites that are connected to JANET. It will cover networking strategy issues related to JANET.
The event is designed to provide senior level computing management with an insight into current JANET networking issues and an opportunity to inform the debate. It is concerned with strategic rather than technical matters and those likely to find it useful are computing service directors or other senior officers responsible for the provision of IT services.
The workshop complements JANET's annual technical Networkshop which is held at Easter for networking systems staff. This event provides an opportunity for people to meet others with similar responsibilities, to discuss common issues and exchange ideas, and to improve the effectiveness of their provision for networking services.
This year the organisers have decided to encourage discussion and feedback from the delegates and therefore the programme includes panel and discussion sessions on only two topics.
The workshop starts with an optional drinks reception and dinner on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December with the main workshop sessions taking place on Thursday 4th December 2008.

Dinner and conference only package (this does NOT include accommodation)
Cost = £150.00 + VAT @ 15%
Conference only package on 4 December (includes freshment breaks and lunch)
Cost = £120.00 + VAT @ 15%

Cancellation Policy
If you find yourself unable to attend please notify the JANET Events Co-ordinator. Substitutes will be accepted.
Cancellation within one month of the event - 50 % refund will be given
Cancellation within ten days of the event - No refund will be given
Venue
The workshop will take place at the Aston Business School Conference Centre, Aston Triangle, Birmingham. The centre is a 25 minute walk from the main railway station and is close to city centre shopping, leisure and entertainment facilities.
Delegates will be accommodated in single occupancy rooms with en-suite facilities.
There is no car parking available at the Aston Business School Conference Centre.
