Tariffs
In addition to centrally funded connections to JANET, additional tariffs may be applicable for primary connections to the network. For example: organisations falling outside of the central funding mechanisms, additional connections and bandwidth upgrades. Further information can be obtained by contacting the JANET Service Desk.
Upgrading a JANET Connection
All enquiries about upgrading a JANET primary connection (irrespective of the method of connection) must be directed to JANET Service Desk , either by telephone, fax, post or e-mail. There are a number of standard bandwidth upgrade options available to existing customers with a primary connection to JANET. In some cases the cost of the upgrade may be the responsibility of the organisation requesting the increase in bandwidth and in these circumstances JANET(UK)'s tariffs will apply. The JSD team will be able to advise on the procedure and funding arrangements for the upgrade and provide details of the tariff that applies.
Regional Network Connections
If an organisation is connected via a regional network and only wants increased bandwidth to the regional network and not to JANET, it may approach the network management directly although it is preferable that the organisation comes to JANET(UK) for the initial enquiry.
