JANET Aurora Meetings

Community meetings for the projects groups using the JANET Aurora infrastructure will be held at approximately six-month intervals. These will enable exchange of experiences in using the infrastructure, and provide the opportunity to discuss project results between groups.

Third Meeting - 22nd April 2009

The Third Aurora community meeting was hosted by the Photonics Research Group at the Universityof Aston on 22nd April 2009.

The meeting provided a project status report on rollout of the second phase and updates on operational and governance topics. Research groups could also report on their current and future projects.

Second Meeting - 11th November 2008

The second meeting for the Aurora photonics community was hosted by the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton on Tuesday 11th November 2008.

This provided an update on the second phase of JANET Aurora which would extend the fibre footprint to the Universities of Aston and Southampton. There were also opportunities for the photonics groups to present current and potential future projects which may use the infrastructure.
