Opportunities to get Involved
JANET is conducting a review of the JANET Videoconferencing Service (JVCS) service, to determine the user requirement for collaboration services over JANET and establish whether the JANET videoconferencing services are meeting the needs of its users. A cross section of organisations have been contacted during October 2009 to take part in a survey to establish their requirements in this area.
If you have not already taken part in this survey, but would like to have your say, an online version is now available from the following web page: http://www.ja.net/development/VideoconferencingReview
JANET has commisioned a consultancy firm as part of its investigations into the area of Mobile Broadband. You may be contacted during this exercise and we would be grateful for any input you can provide.
Events
JANET(UK) will hold a one day Network Access Conference at the Mayfair Conference Centre, London on 3rd November 2009. The event will provide the perfect opportunity to learn about JANET(UK)’s work in this area and will give attendees a chance to directly influence it’s future direction and meet with colleagues from other organisations facing similar challenges. The event will include a review on recently-completed network access projects, an outline of the forthcoming programme of research, and updates on relevant technological developments.
