Making PKI more accessible

The eduPKI activity of the GN3 project aims to make trusted digital certificates easier to use both for projects and services and for their users. Many separate Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs) already exist within the European Research and Education Community so the activity is aiming to identify and classify these, determine which are suitable for more widespread use, and make this information available in a central location. This should allow projects and services to find existing PKIs that they can use, rather than creating their own, and also help users to configure their computers and software to recognise these trusted services without having to manually configure each one.
