JANET Videoconferencing user survey now complete
25 MARCH 2010: JANET(UK) has completed a review of JANET videoconferencing services. The review was informed by an extensive survey of user requirement across the JANET customer base, coupled with a number of focused studies. Overall, there was found to be a high user satisfaction of the services, however it was clear that there could be greater benefit to the research and education sectors from increased use and penetration of the services. This could be achieved by: a stronger focus on promoting the application and its attendant benefits; through better marketing; increasing the range of interworking capability with other popular videoconferencing products and; offering a richer range of tools to strengthen the collaborative working alongside the videoconference.
A programme of work is currently being defined to take forward the recommendations from the review.
