JANET launches 'Project Moonshot'

25 MARCH 2010: JANET is currently initiating standards work to take federated identity management to applications beyond the web such as e-mail, instant messaging, file sharing, or remote computing.

The initial phase of the Moonshot project proposes to combine three key security technologies to achieve simplified sign-on, and to build a test-bed for extending the benefits of federated identity management to these applications.
