New Network Performance Specialist joins JANET(UK)
Martin Dunmore has recently joined JANET (UK) as Network Performance Measurement - Technical Specialist. In his new role Martin will investigate the long term strategy for the measurement and monitoring of the JANET infrastructure. This will include the evolution of existing tools (such as Netsight) as well as embracing new techniques, tools and opportunities with respect to requirements such as supporting network research, capacity planning, green networking, attack detection and the roadmap for the next generation of the JANET Network.
Before joining JANET(UK), Martin spent 9 years as a Senior Researcher at Lancaster University, where he specialised in areas including QoS, high performance networking, cognitive networking, IPv6, wireless communications and mobile/ad-hoc networking. During this time, Martin collaborated with JANET(UK) on several projects including 6NET, UKLight, IPv6 QoS, Wireless Advisory Group, Location Independent Networking (JANET Roaming) and Portable Wireless LANs.
