802.1X Special Interest Groups moves to new Focus
21 MAY 2010: Following a number of Specialist Interest Group (SIG) meetings, the emphasis for the 802.1X OpenSEA SIG has now moved to focus on the following areas:
- Improving the user experience
- Extending eduroam coverage into new social spaces off-campus
- Promoting adoption and use of the JANET Roaming Service/eduroam service
- Simplifying the technical model of the JANET Roaming Service to ease adoption
- Further harmonising JANET Roaming with international eduroam
- Leading development of future eduroam technologies
The Specialist Interest Group was formed as part of JANET(UK)'s participation in a project to develop and test the open sourced 802.1x OpenSEA Supplicant, to facilitate use of the JANET Roaming Service.
