What is JANET and what can it do for me?

JANET is the UK's education and research network and is managed by JANET(UK). It will provide you with reliable, high bandwidth access to the Internet and other education and research networks and resources worldwide.

Through funding provided by the LSC you are joining a community of over 18 million end users who already enjoy the benefits of a JANET connection.

All specialist colleges eligible for a funded JANET connection are entitled to be connected at 2Mbit/s and make use of JANET services.

Two new web services have been developed especially for your community: web mail and web filtering. A third, webhosting is currently undergoing procurement.
