Videoconferencing offers students the chance to meet a BBFC examiner and talk face to face about how and why films are given age ratings, how issues like sex, violence, bad language, smoking and horror are dealt with in 2011, child protection and what it is like to decide what people can and cannot watch. BBFC video conferencing sessions follow a standard Q&A format. With sufficient notice it is possible for talks to be tailored to the specific needs of a class or year group. This might include discussing a specific film or issue, say one which is being discussed as part of a media or film studies course, or even discussing with an examiner how coursework film projects would be rated. Please email us to discuss this at education@bbfc.co.uk Our examiners are happy to talk to primary or secondary groups, teachers or university students and will tailor the material and discussion points accordingly. |
